What is the difference between 18650 batteries and soft pack lithium batteries?

The obvious difference between 18650 lithium battery and soft pack lithium battery from the appearance is that 18650 lithium battery is a cylindrical steel shell battery with basically the same size, while soft pack lithium battery can have any shape and size, and the shell is a battery packaged with aluminum-plastic film.   

The difference between 18650 lithium batteries and soft pack lithium batteries lies in the use of different materials such as electrolytes, conductive agents, and electrical formula ratios, as well as different production processes. 18650 lithium batteries are individually encapsulated in steel shells (18 represents a diameter of 18mm, 65 represents a length of 65mm, 0 represents a cylindrical battery), and the structure of internal cells and separators is wound. The outer packaging of lithium polymer soft pack batteries uses aluminum-plastic film, and the internal cells and barriers are stacked layer by layer (overlapping layer by layer).  

Another difference between the 18650 lithium battery and the soft packed lithium battery lies in the different electrolyte conditions of the internal data of the battery: the electrolyte inside the lithium polymer soft packed battery is polymer, and some are gel or solid, while the electrolyte inside the 18650 lithium battery is liquid.
