What are the benefits of 18650 lithium batteries with protective plates.

The 18650 we often refer to today actually refers to the external dimensions of the battery, which is a standard battery model, where 18 represents the diameter of 18mm, 65 represents the length of 65mm, and 0 represents the replacement of the battery. 18650 batteries refer to nickel hydrogen batteries and lithium-ion batteries. Due to the rarity of nickel hydrogen batteries nowadays, they are now referred to as lithium-ion batteries.

18650 lithium batteries
The nominal voltage of a single 18650 lithium-ion battery is usually 3.6V or 3.7V; the smaller discharge termination voltage is usually 2.75V. The normal capacity is 1200-3100mAh, and exceeding 3400mAh is basically an incorrect standard. Most flashlights, high-intensity flashlights, and other portable lighting devices use 18650 lithium batteries as their power source.

18650 lithium battery, with or without battery protection board, the difference is as follows:

1. The height of the battery without a board is 65mm, while the height of the battery with a board is 69-71mm.
2. Discharge to 20V. If the battery reaches 2.4V, it will not discharge, indicating the presence of a protective plate.
3. Touch the positive and negative voltage levels. If the battery does not reflect anything after 10 seconds, it indicates that there is a protective plate. If the battery is very hot, there is no protective plate.

Due to its large capacity, long lifespan, high and stable voltage, 18650 batteries are very suitable for portable lighting devices such as high-intensity flashlights.
Some readers have some questions about 18650 batteries with and without protective plates. What are the benefits of sharing 18650 batteries with and without a protective board?
The protective board is suitable for everyone to use. It has over discharge protection: when the battery is about to run out and the voltage reaches the required converter value, the protection board will also close and the product will automatically shut down. Over discharge protection. Overcharge protection: When the product is charging and the voltage reaches the higher voltage of the battery (4.2V), the protection board will automatically turn off and shut off the power, indicating that the battery is fully charged and will not continue to charge.

Short circuit protection: When the battery accidentally short circuits, the protection board will automatically close within a few seconds without the need for power on. At this point, you can touch one piece continuously. The resulting short circuit protection will not cause an explosion. Overcurrent protection: After the battery is discharged, the protection board will have a maximum current limit. Different products are different. When the discharge exceeds this current, the protection board will automatically shut down. The size of an 18650 battery without a protective plate is better than that of an 18650 battery with a protective plate. The battery should be very short. Due to the initial design, some devices cannot use batteries with protective plates. Without a protective board, the cost is low and the price is relatively cheap. To experience this usage, usually do not over discharge or over charge, and use a protective board to perform the same operation.
