Check the battery for physical damage, leakage, or corrosion.

Measure the voltage of each battery using a digital voltmeter. The voltage of a fully charged battery should be approximately 12.6-12.8 volts.

Perform load testing to determine the battery's ability to maintain power under heavy loads. This is usually done through a battery load tester that meets the power requirements of a golf cart. Weak batteries will exhibit a significant voltage drop during load testing.

Measure battery fluid to evaluate the health status of lead-acid batteries. A hydrometer can measure the specific gravity of battery liquid. If the weight is lower than the required value, the battery may need to be replaced.
